In 2017 she wrote an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and took on the stage name Bea in tribute. Bea, along with her older sister Sinead and her sister Sinead, were brought up with Helen Moloney (n e Moloney), a former jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. Their family was obsessed with horses and race meetings. Bea was a child a tour guide in the Irish National Stud. From the age of a child, Bea knew that she was not interested in the racing industry. Instead she loved the performing arts.
