Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar with his folk-based pop songs with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have inspired many people to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the very first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver has become the image of Colorado to many across the globe. In my journeys, you come across someone on the opposite end of the planet, or someone of New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked within small Folk Music groups. The song was written with Bill Danoff. Danoff created the track with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver was introduced to an earlier version immediately, he realized it was destined to be the next hit single. The song was recorded just a few days following performing on stage in Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
